Pride Parade Chicago 2012

We were invited to hand out ("Don't throw them!") beads from our cargo bike for an alderman's office uptown, and we gave them out until they were all gone. We loved the Righteously Outrageous Twirling Corps (ROTC),  groups of dancing people and  of course, the cowboys.
Thanks for having us!

Hortus in Urbe

After Jonathan Richman's free evening at Millennium Park, rounding everybody up to go was pretty much a fiasco.  We headed frazzled for the exit but soon found ourselves in Piet Oudolf's  Lurie Garden starting to enjoy the evening again. Just us and no one else in the whole garden.

Our big guy wanted to look and take pictures. Then everyone stayed out of the water. Just this once.

Thanks to our kind bike friends at the concert for helping us get everybody together.

Biking the Drive, the first Hyde Park Kidical Mass, and Event Updates

Looking West from the Chicago River Bridge at Bike the Drive

Smallest Bike the Drive rider?

The Kidical Mass Craft Table offered crafts, information, and fun.

The first Kidical Mass in Hyde Park was a smash hit --
well attended and it even went next to the lake!

Hyde Park Kidical Mass, the last Sunday of every month at 10:30 am,
meets at Harold Washington Park. Well done Elizabeth!

Cargo Bike Roll Call coming up June 9th at 6-11 pm at West Town Bikes. They'll shut the street this year which might make it better for families with kids, and there will be crafts and snacks.
Any bike or cyclist is welcome to come and hang out, and lots of people have fun unusual bikes that they will let you test ride if you'd like.

Streets for Cycling open house downtown 10 am - 4 pm also on June 9 at 77 S Dearborn in the building lobby. Get there early and let them know what you think of the new cycling network plan. Is it family friendly enough for you? What would you change? One of the last chances to tell them now!
